Twisted, Tangled, Tied Up

It’s been a year now that I’ve been playing with ribbons in the studio.  It has been a fun experiment, with successes and failures.  Here are a few of the latest studies in oil.

And this one is straight from my Christmas gift wrapping, ha.

It is easy to wish I had more time to work out my thoughts.  Just today I was discussing the pressure of succeeding with my husband.  I have only a few hours a week designated for painting–a few hours.  I kinda feel like I don’t have the luxury of using that time for failing.  I know, I know…I’m learning just as much from the bombs as I am from what works.  I just would like to move a little faster up the ladder than I am at the moment.  My hands want to keep in step with my thoughts, but I can’t right now–I’m all tied up.  You know what I mean, right?

These are so cool. So that “all tied up” pun was intended, right? I never feel like I accomplish what I should in any given week. Uggh.

Beautiful work!!! I know it’s so hard to find time for everything isn’t it. Women are moms and wives and caretakers and we are also supposed to have successful careers with all that free time we have!!!! xxx
