It seems like 1000 years ago that I was fussing over the laundry room layout–I have since moved on to other challenges to twist my poor brain into a soggy pretzel. But I appreciated all the comments regarding the should-or-shouldn’t-I do a laundry room sink. I finally figured out a way to get the long narrow room to have a roomy closet, sink, washer and dryer (duh), a mudroom closet, and an ample office desk. I am just doing without a countertop for the sink. Remember the before:
Here is the room currently–a long narrow space with the traffic flow moving down the left side. The door on the end goes to the garage. In front of the garage door will be the mudroom closet (because I can’t actually handle mudroom clutter in a mudROOM) next to my L-shaped desk. I will do the closet and cabinets for the my desk from IKEA. I’ll hang the red chandelier here (when I say “I,” I mean the electrician). On the other side of the wall is the laundry with a little nook for the sink. I am using the soapstone sink that was originally in the kitchen.
