While in Athens last week, we stopped at potter Rebecca Wood’s charming studio. You are the grumpiest person on earth if you can’t feel happy walking through these front doors.

One side of the studio is where the art happens and the other side houses a little shop of one-of-a-kind pieces by Wood and the team of artists at the studio. Everything in the space is sprinkled with red fairy dust, a by-product of that malleable Georgia red clay. You can shop the R. Wood Studio website or use their store locator to find a dealer near you. You can also find their work in Sundance Catalog.
Isn’t it all lovely?

I first discovered the studio in a Southern Living, I think, article in 2008. I loaded the kids up one day for a little day trip to Athens to see this pottery for myself while Daddy rested from a round of chemo. Walking into all that brightly-colored pottery was just what I needed for happy boost. I left with a few pieces for my own.
In the playroom.

Hanging on the kitchen wall.

Gorgeous! I love those!
I still need something for my dining room (seems like I always will!) . . .
Oh her things are gorgeous! I would love any of those redish orange plates for my dining room.
It makes my heart ache to think of how awful it must have been for you all when your husband was going through chemo.
Love pottery. Those things are so pretty.
Neat pieces. How do you find these places?
