One Room Challenge | Week Five

Week Five, y’all.  Remember where we started:

You can catch up at Week One–it’s a little background to the property and this attic space we are finishing.

We are now here:

Shiplap from Metrie | Paint from Farrow & Ball in All White

This is HUGE!  Our contractor Mike has been working OVERTIME to get this all done ON TIME, like a champ!  Subs are coming in like clockwork, and everyone is flexible at the inevitable twists and turns of remodeling/construction/design.  In short, WOW, I’m SO grateful for everyone’s commitment to this challenge!

The wallpaper is nearly a suspense novel in itself.  After delays, cancellations, last minute schedule changes and a plot twist involving the contractor’s sweet wife signing for the paper, it is UP!  And so beautiful.  It is Feuille in blue by Farrow & Ball, and it is cheer on the walls.  I love it.  So many thank yous to our installers who traveled FIVE hours round trip to hang this paper yesterday.  I’m so grateful for people who rally and make it happen.  This paper makes the bathroom.Classic, classic, classic…what more can I say about subway tile?  We have it in two of the three bathrooms at the cottage.  It seems like a natural in the attic guest suite.  You can find it here at Jeffery Court Tile.  Mike is almost done with it!The stairway and deck are finished.  I love how it turned out and can’t wait to trick it out with some plants and color.

Until we get the total landscape plan in place, the dirt will be dressed with straw and I have a few Leyland cypresses coming in for photos.

Do you believe it will happen???  I do!  The best of the best are working on this.  What’s up next:  finish painting, lay pine floors (unfinished, finish after the challenge), lay honed marble floors, install lighting, install bathroom and kitchen live edge counters, etc, ETCETERA!  I don’t know why I’m still typing…I need to get some sleep for the days ahead.

Before I wrap this up, I BIG thank you to my in-laws who have delayed their own construction on the cottage to finish the attic guest suite.  They are living in dust and clutter:
Soon!  Soon!  All this will be moved out.  They are so good to me.  My mother-in-law cooked me yummy meals while working earlier this week.  And, my pops helped me caulk.  It takes a village!

Okay, same place and time next week–it’s gonna be a Modern Mountain Granny Extravaganza!!!
