Do you dream of old houses with secret passages, treasures hidden under floor boards, notes tucked behind tattered wallpaper? I know, do I really need to ask? Of course you do.

My friend Chris is putting the finishing touches on her master bath remodel in her 100+ year-old house. While they were demolishing the previous bathroom, they found a hidden fireplace inside one of the walls. What luck, and a perfect place to position a bath tub. Lock the door, it is time for Mama to soak!
When she isn’t whiling away the hours in a bubble bath, Chris likes to throw parties. Take a tour of her house all decorated for Valentine’s Day.

Next up, the cottage bedroom redo plans. See you then!

How great to stumble upon a hidden gem! I can imagine enjoying a long soak in the tub while candles are flickering in the fireplace.
This looks like such a romantic spot. But who on earth would cover up a fireplace?
I seem to have a weird knack for finding myself in houses like this..living in them as a child and then visiting/stumbling upon them as an adult. One memorable house had a TRAP DOOR that led to a hidden staircase that descended into small servants’ quarters. So cool.
