The installers laid the upstairs floor over the weekend. It was this moment that I felt like we might actually live in this house for reals! I’m so happy to be at this point. The main level floors go in this week.
You can see here in the kids’ playroom and hall that there is some variance in the planks, in color and pattern. We went with a mid-grade white oak with less uniformity and shorter planks mixed in as an effort to save some money–because the square footage made premium wood cost prohibitive and I’m such a carpet snob to consider an alternative. So we’re calling it character! My daughter’s room, looking into her sweet closet.
Would you consider staining the floors differently on the two levels? I’m just wondering… We haven’t selected a stain yet, but I’ll be checking in with Sherry’s recent wood floor staining post.
The marble installation in the master bathroom is almost complete. I love, love, love it! It is so bright, clean, and soothing.
I want to make it happen in the side entry hall. Here is the hall before:
I’m still daring to put up those grocery store lights down this hall and would love to paper the ceiling in something unexpected for color.
My brain and time has been nothing but house, house, house! But I did manage to make some girl time happen before this summer was over–lifesaving!
My irreplaceable, beautiful, nutty friends, Natalie and Cheryl, from 4th-grade and 7th-grade respectively, met me in Vegas for some good non-gambling fun. And, I had the pleasure to gallivant around Atlanta with the one-of-a-kind Christina, hitting as many vintage shops and eateries as possible in a two days. Her hair is epic, people, gorgeous! I’m a lucky girl to have such fine ladies in my life.
Okay, it’s back to house, house, house!
Next up…the exterior progress.
