My friend Rachael was not going to let me pass up the beautiful linen sheet we found at Round Top last October. ”If you don’t buy it, I will buy it for you.” Sometimes things are too perfect–like yellow birds, flowers, and my very initials. So I bought it.

It would be very pretty as a pillow, that sheet. And, so, it is–with enough sheet fabric left over to make three other pillow cases. And all those pillows add up to one very comfy bed.

This delicate lattice work extended 18″ on either side of the pillow, which we cut off to make two additional pillows…as gifts for somebodies special.

Notice how I didn’t title this post as “Loft Bedroom Sneak Peek.” For one, I don’t want you to yell at me for another “peek.” Secondly, this isn’t a reveal as I may change the chandy and the junk above the bed is just, well, where I left it last.
Do you see that white board with the little magnetic words a la 1990s fridge poetry? I thought the magnetic words would be something fun to do after the kids go to sleep–but it seems my husband has other things on his mind when he gets in bed than doing magnetic poetry. Sure, uh-huh, like sleep.
Now, dear readers, I transition to the analogy of the moon and this here blog. You know how the moon waxes and wanes? Well, TPH is now entering it’s waning phase. There have been fewer and fewer posts until, BAM, new moon! But just like the moon, I’ll be back to waxing and posting and gazing at the narcissistic pool that is my blog sometime soon. In the meantime, I will be focusing on our kitchen refresh, overseeing a big exterior project at the cottage, spring cleaning the cottage for the rental season, preparing for summer school and fall semester (I’ll have three students next fall, yikes!), teaching, and painting. I’ll check in every now and then, but I’ll need all the extra time I can get over the next few weeks.
And, thank you to the readers who nominated The Painted House for The Homies–a real treat to see me down the list, way down, keep going, with all the big wigs. Hooray for nominations!
See you again soon!

Loved the sneak peek and your so very tasteful pillows! So much fun to set up a new house…
Love the pillows with your initials! What a find!
Oh, wow. Your vintage sheet-turned-pillow is absolutely beautiful. Love that is pierced and embroidered…definitely not something that you can find at Bed, Bath & Beyond.
Oh my word – I’m completely jealous! That pillow is amazing! Great find.
More more! jk, How great is that pillow, what a find. Good luck on all your projects. I had no idea how much time blogging took up till I was doing it. Still amazed at all you juggle, and how effortless you make it look.
And, congrats on your nomination, not surprised one bit.
I will miss you, but checking in often to see if one blog slips in
What a find! Love the beautiful sheet and what you did with them!!
So, so pretty…and can we talk about your chandy? Gorgeous!!!!
that is a true friend.
we all need a “purchase me now” bully who loves us dearly!! That truly was meant for you.
Forget about sneak peeks.. I am just gonna come on over and take a teensy nap on that bed while you wrestle 5 kids, k?
Love the pillow-and perfect with your initials on it. You simply couldn’t have passed that by! Yellow and gray have always been a favorite of mine, since I was a little girl and had an organdy, ruffly dress in those colors!
