Cathedral Antiques Show Inspiration House 2013

The Cathedral Antique Show, an annual Atlanta event, kicked off this weekend.  It is a two-week design extravaganza of antiques, private home tours, lectures and book signing (Miles Redd this year!), and an inspiration showhouse done up by Atlanta designers.  I went to the press party last Thursday for a sneak peek of the rooms–so here are some photo teasers.  If you are local, get yourself there in person to see these beautiful spaces; otherwise, wait patiently to see the full spread in Atlanta Homes & Lifestyle magazine.

Four of my friends had rooms!

Ally Kim added mod color to a traditional Tudor porch.  Recognize the table?  Between the two of us, the base has been silver, neon pink, and white!

Dayka Robinson held nothing back in her narrow stair hall space–hot chartreuse!

Sherry Hart and Lori May turned a tiny stone room into a cozy retreat.

And, you know I like some quirkiness.  Clowns aren’t for nightmares anymore–this isn’t your Grandma’s Lladro.

I’m planning on going back for another look to take it all in.  Beautiful work, ladies and gents!  You can get the full schedule at their website, Cathedral Antiques Show.

  1. I recognized ally’s space before you identified it. yep. from the table. if I wasn’t three hours away, I would be there for sure…donna

  2. such talented ladies! loved seeing this sneak peek of their work.

good gracious. I nearly spit out my drink at the sight of that monkey….

  3. Thanks for the report. There were certainly some clowning around by the designers. I’m still amused by the white painted logs, the fish plates, the Dayka Waves, the chandeliers wearing jewelry. And there are boatloads of paintings.

  4. That stuffed monkey is the next best thing to having a real one. A life long dream of mine! I need to stop working so hard and go to some of these things and have a “life”. I keep saying soon, soon….Hope you’re great.

  5. So glad you made it out to see the house! Thanks for including me in the wrap-up…I love how Terry called my room “Dayka Waves”.

BTW, I saw your feature & your profile pic looks AMAZE. SO happy for you!
