Remember when I was all ”my house is a villian and trying to sabotage all my creative time with, uh, creative house projects”? Remember that? Well, we kissed and made up.

Not really. I’m totally kicking this house’s ranch butt. But it is subsequently kicking mine. Oh, the neck pain from painting! But I’m determined to cross some things off the house list this year–including a little update for my daughter’s room. I’ve had the paint since July 2011! However, I am now happy to report that the walls are now shell pink and her bed went from black to peacock over the last few days.

We are keeping all of the big items and just freshening up with paint and a new pillow or two. I am also switching out her mirror with two I found at Scott’s last year and adding a little madeover tea table from The Salvation Army (still awaiting final coats of paint in the studio). The little stools for the table are already finished–since last summer when I thought I would just whip out the room redo. Sigh.
And her awesome art that I’ve been gradually framing will cover the walls.
This girl is sweet, like one of the sweetest girls I have ever known, thoughtful; and she lives and breathes princess stuff. So a sweet princess room she will get regardless of whether her mama likes themed rooms or not. It would be a blight on her childhood not to have a princess room (all things relative, people).
I’ll keep you posted.

Also, thank you to Erin at Clementine & Olive and Darlene at Fieldstone Hill Design for recently featuring our guest room!

I totally need some guest room inspiration…can’t wait to see the pink and peacock more!
I looked at my sweet son sleeping last night.
He was wearing Buzz Lightyear zip up jammies. I swore we would never have themed pajamas. No, only crocheted etsy items for my darlings.
But you know what? He loves them. Adores them. And, they make him smile.
nuff said.
You are a good mom.
Besides.
The mother of a princess is a Queen, you know.
just saying.
Can’t wait to see Miss Princess’ room!
Can’t wait to see the princess room for our real princess. I’m also excited to see how her art looks in her new refinished room!
What color were the walls before? And did you sand the bed or just go for it? What an awesome bed, by the way.
Wait a minute….. you do it yourself? Wow! You are something! great job! I can’t wait to see that princess’ room
That’s a lovely shade of pink– what brand is it? I, too, have a princess-adoring girl, sporting the sparkly dresses I thought we would never own… it’s amazing how we change when we become mothers of these sweet little beings… what we’ll do to make them happy. You are a good mom.
Angela, you are ON IT as of late. I’m sure you’re daughter will be crazy for the transformation!
Oh, I can’t wait to see it! And you’ve got paint from July 2011? Pshaw…girl, I had paint from September 2010 that I finally broke out to paint the master bath with this month. Lol!
Just remember, I knew you when. How much are early works worth?x
